THE BTD ADVANTAGE

We at Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd. would like to introduce you to our “BTD Advantage” program.

We all know the tire business is much more than bolting a set of tires on your customer’s car; you need tools to help market your company, training for you and your associates, and merchandising to effectively display the products you have to offer. We recognize that the challenges that tire dealers face today are complex compared to just a few years ago. The more services we as your tire supplier can offer you, the more time you will have to spend working with your customers and growing your business. We at Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd. are committed to this.

Ben Tire’s seven warehouse locations are staffed with knowledgeable associates to serve you. Our company has been in the tire business since 1925, and has successfully distributed quality products with competitive pricing to dealers just like you, throughout the region.

INDEX

IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM

All BTD Advantage associate dealers may participate in the identification program. The type of signage that is available to your dealership is based on your total tire purchases and specific brand purchasing.

This feature allows dealers to let their customers know what they have to offer and it helps establish the “branding/recognition” of your dealership.

Cooper Tire, Michelin, Multi-Mile, Sigma, Titan, Goodyear, Hankook, Firestone Ag, Sumitomo, and Yokohama exterior signage is available. Dealer pays the installation costs and most signage is eligible for co-op 50/50 rate.

Your warehouse manager or salesman can supply you with more information on available signage and the ordering process. Many factors must be taken into consideration, and influence sign eligibility and installation:

  • Physical size of the location
  • Visibility of location and volume of traffic
  • Existing sign identification
  • Local permit zoning ordinances

These signs remain the property of BTD and it will be removed from the associate dealer’s place of business if the associate dealer agreement is canceled.


CO-OP

The program will require minimum purchase commitment from our dealers and they will earn their co-op dollars based upon qualifying purchases.

WEARABLES

BTD Advantage extends to you the ability to purchase for your dealership customized hats, shirts, jackets, and other promotional items. As a preferred BTD Advantage associate dealer you will be offered the wearable and promotional catalogs from the different major brand tire manufacturers that you commit a purchasing level with.

These qualifying purchases will be able to be submitted for co-op payment. With most brands this is an 80/20 payment, leaving you with substantial savings on your out of pocket expenses.

Having hats or other promotional items is a popular way to create excitement for your business and to solidify your company’s personal branding within your community. Promoting a tire brand and having recognition with that brand is key in successfully marketing your products, however promoting just the tire brand and not your individual business is a great loss of opportunity. By branding yourself through these promotional items with your logo in addition to the tire brand you draw attention to your dealership and having your logo out in the community on these promotional products is repeat advertising.

Your Ben Tire salesman will be glad to help plan your promotion and provide additional details on how to order the wearable and promotional merchandise.

TRAINING

The more knowledge you and your associates have concerning your products and the sale of tires, the more sales you will make. Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd. is ready to assist you with your training needs. Many of our tire manufacturers offer excellent training programs that will be available to you as a BTD Advantage associate dealer. The cost of the training may be charged to your co-op fund at 100%. Your BTD sales representative will coordinate your training needs with available classes offered.

NATIONAL ACCOUNT PROGRAMS

BTD offers to its BTD Advantage associate dealers the Goodyear National Account program which is designed to deliver large fleet accounts to your outlet. There are more than 700 individual fleet accounts with thousands of locations and millions of vehicles. The Goodyear program provides tire and automotive service business to your location.

Program benefits include:

  • Invoicing and billing performed by Goodyear
  • Low cost advertising
  • No credit problems or collection costs
  • No solicitation expenses
  • Repeat business
  • Uniform pricing

BTD Advantage associate dealers can participate in the National Account program, provided your business uses XPLOR. Alternate filing, and upon approval of servicing warehouse, can be faxed directly to said warehouse.

Credit for products and service will be made directly to your BTD associate dealer account. If your dealership does not have sufficient purchase history to validate a particular sale, the credit will be based upon the lowest published price in effect at the time of the transaction.

GOVERNMENT SALES

A government sales program is designed to deliver additional business to your outlet. Goodyear and Michelin have negotiated contracts with thousands of national, state and local government agencies to supply their tire needs. Government employees also have personal vehicles, and like to buy where the service is best.

Program benefits include:

  • Invoicing and billing performed by Goodyear
  • Low cost advertising
  • No credit problems or collection costs
  • Repeat business
  • Uniform pricing

BTD Advantage associate dealers can participate in the Government Sales program, provided your business purchases tires used in these transactions through Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd.

Credit for products will be made directly to your dealer account. If your dealership does not have sufficient purchase history to validate a particular sale, the credit will be based upon the lowest published price in effect at the time of the transaction.

TIRE WARRANTY

Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd. offers limited warranties for tires in all product categories, from passenger and performance to light truck and winter tires. Because all the tires are backed by limited manufacturer warranties, customers can have confidence in the tires they purchase.

Ben Tire’s limited tire warranty is available for your dealership to offer to your customers. Instead of sending your customer down the road for warranty coverage, your dealership can process the claim. Your customer expects this level of service, and we will provide you with all the necessary information and claim forms to handle your customers’ needs.

A full catalog of available display items are available for the above brands. Each company has many items for free for use in your showroom. Those items with cost involved can be purchased using accrued co-op funds.

SHOWROOM FIXTURES AND UPDATES

A well maintained and up-to-date showroom will enhance your customer’s tire buying experiences. BTD Advantage associate dealers may participate in the Tire Showroom Update Program.

As a BTD Advantage associate dealer you will earn co-op funds through your qualifying purchases, these co-op funds can be used to purchase many things from floor tiles to paint for your walls (as long as they meet the qualifying tire brand guidelines). Many of the tire manufacturers have the following items also available for purchase with your co-op funds.

  • Tire walls
  • Tire display platforms
  • Service counters
  • Customer waiting area furniture

MARKETING GUIDANCE

Branding
The branding of your tire dealership is as important as the branding of the tires you sell. If you need assistance with revising or creating a branding image, i.e. logo art work, we are glad to offer our services to you. Discuss with your salesman what your needs are and let us put together an image branding package for you.

Major Brands
The major tire brand manufacturers that we offer have national ad campaigns that help in creating a drive to your door for the consumer seeking out their products. It is essential that you make the consumer aware that you carry these brands in order to benefit from the national ad campaigns. Local advertising complements the national advertising to bring tire customers to your stores. We can supply for you, with most brands (depending on your purchases) the following;

  • Radio scripts
  • TV commercials (which will tag your business)
  • Newspaper advertising ad copy
  • Direct mailer ad copy

INCENTIVES

From time to time, your servicing warehouse will offer to BTD Advantage associate dealers only, special buying prices on select tires and will make available to your sales staff incentives that will encourage the sale of select tires. These incentives or “spiffs” are intended to increase premium tire sales at the point-of-sale. An example would be where a sales person would receive $1.00 for every Hankook H727 sold during the month of May.

Spiffs do not need to be monetary. Another example is a sales associate can earn points toward a vendor related wearable item such as a Goodyear jacket or any other items listed in our different wearable catalogs. Spiff programs through select vendors can be set up through your servicing warehouse or salesman.

Our Pick Your Destination incentive program has proven to be a great success with our dealers. In this program our dealers are able to earn a variety of different level vacation packages according to their purchase increases as compared to an identical time period from the previous year.

Another incentive offered to our BTD Advantage associate dealers is our annual VIP Dealer Trip. These trips are open only to our top customers and may be earned by meeting or exceeding your annual purchase quota. These trips have not only proven to be a good time by all, they have been a great venue for learning from our customers what we need to do to help both them and ourselves in this ever changing industry.

Yet another feature to being a BTD Advantage associate dealer is being offered buying power in other avenues then just tire purchases.

As privileged BTD Advantage associate dealers we have negotiated for you a purchase point with different vendors at a guaranteed rate equal to that that we are afforded through our buying volume with these vendors. A few examples of the savings we are able to extend to you are through Advo and Mail South (Direct Mailing Advertising Companies).

PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

Ben Tire Distributors, Ltd. works with the industries leading Tire Brands to give you the best product offering and complete product mix. We strive to have the tires you want when you need them. This is of major importance to retain those O.E. replacement fitments, which is the largest sector of the passenger tire business. We also realize that major brand names do not always meet the needs of our customers so we offer various private brands as well. This is one more way for you to be able to tie all potential consumers to your dealerships vs. your competitor.

ECOMMERCE ACCESS

This feature allows our associate dealers to have 24 hour access to their inventory availability and pricing, and provides the option to place orders electronically 24 hours a day.

Ben Tire has implemented an online ordering system for the convenience of our BTD Advantage associate dealers' use. The only requirements are a computer and Internet service (high-speed is preferred, but dial-up will work).

This system will allow you to:

  • Check stock availability
  • Get your current cost
  • Place your order
  • Check the manufacturer’s web site for information pertaining to the tire
  • Figure plus sizing
  • And more!

There is no cost to the BTD Advantage associate dealer for this program.
